Alejandro Guijarro, Momentum (2010-12)

“The artist travelled to the great quantum mechanics institutions of the world and, using a large-format camera, photographed blackboards as he found them. Momentum displayed the photographs in life-size.

Before he walked into a lecture hall Guijarro had no idea what he might find. He began by recording the blackboard with the minimum of interference. No detail of the lecture hall was included, the blackboard frame was removed and we are left with a surface charged with abstract equations. Effectively these are documents. Yet once removed from their institutional beginnings the meaning evolves. The viewer begins to appreciate the equations for their line and form. Color comes into play and the waves created by the blackboard eraser suggest a vast landscape or galactic setting. The formulas appear to illustrate the worlds of Quantum Mechanics. What began as a precise lecture, a description of the physicist’s thought process, is transformed into a canvas open to any number of possibilities.”

Founder of ‘Yellowist’ movement admits to defacing Rothko

A man has claimed responsibility for defacing a valuable Mark Rothko at the Tate Modern art gallery, but denied he is a vandal.

Scotland Yard has launched an investigation after a man was seen daubing black paint on the mural piece yesterday afternoon.

The writing on the bottom-right corner of the piece appears to read: “Vladimir Umanets, A Potential Piece of Yellowism.”

Discuţiile de acest tip în subsolul pozelor nu îşi prea au rostul iar comentariile zeflemenitoare cu atât mai puţin. Vă recomand ca data viitoare să folosiţi cu încredere forumul.

De-a lungul existenţei acestei comunităţi mai mulţi useri şi-au “curăţat” portofoliul. Astfel multe discuţii, linkuri şi comentarii, s-au pierdut. E păcat, deoarece pentru fiecare fotografie postată am investit timp şi energie. Poate ar trebui să protestaţi faţă de aceste gesturi extreme.

Avem un regulament care trebuie respectat. Din păcate discuţia “0101 vs. analog” nu are o concluzie finală. Vă propun un experiment simplu: schimbaţi profilul de culoare al scanner-ului (sau softul) şi comparaţi rezultatele. Partea de regulament care se referă la postprocesare este interpretabilă şi ţine mai mult de bun simţ.

Postprocesare

Sunt descurajate alterările digitale, folosind Photoshop sau alt software. Vor fi șterse imaginile prelucrate excesiv.

Orice prelucrare digitală trebuie menționată în descrierea imaginii.

De asemenea, folosirea watermark-urilor este interzisă.
